The Wonder Of It All

The Wonder Of It All is a performance for five dancers, created by and with Daniel Linehan. The piece will premiere after the summer, and we are excited to share the creative process.
Daniel Linehan aims to evoke a state of wonder, an emotional flow and otherworldly energetic transmission. He invites the dancers, through questions and guided improvisations, to explore their own deeply personal relationship to dance. The movement emerges from imagination, memories, and total devotion to movement. Unrestrained and wild, they open up new dimensions beyond sensory limits. The dance becomes a medium to something greater than themselves. It reveals paths that intersect with those of our ancestors—gateways to new insights and visions of the future.
The group of dancers is diverse. Anne Pajunen previously worked with Daniel Linehan during their training at P.A.R.T.S. and in some of Hiatus’ early creations. Louise Tanoto and Gorka Gurrutxaga Arruti also performed in previous productions, while The Wonder Of It All marks the first collaboration with Souleymane Sanogo.
The scenography is by visual artist Ugo Woatzi, who transforms nature and the human body into poetic images that become part of the dance. Their visuals form an installation together with the light sculpture by Ofer Smilansky. He creates a constantly shifting landscape in which music, movement, and space come together powerfully, and at times, ominously. Frédérick Denis weaves Ugo Woatzi’s images into the costume designs for his eleventh collaboration with Daniel Linehan. For the music, Rutger Zuydervelt draws from conversations about the performance and composes a unifying auditory space for both the dancers and the audience.
We are excited to share the story behind the creation of The Wonder Of It All via our newsletters offering a look behind the scenes, and our website and social media for updates.
Mark your calendar: the premiere is on October 2, 2025, at STUK Leuven.
